Description: Original WW 2 German Photo Postcard Of Castle Friedenstein And Monument Unposted in good overall condition (please see our condition description.) This postcard was obtained by Big Ed while he was in Germany (after D-Day) as a tank driver with the Fourth Armored Division of Patton's Third Army. It has been stored in a photo album since his return from Germany in 1946. This postcard from Gotha shows Castle Friedenstein with a monument for a dead soldier. The monument has been removed so there are not many photos of the castle with this monument and we did not find any in our research. These WW 2 postcards are rare, particularly unposted, and highly collectible. Please consider purchasing this lot and please be sure to check out all of the other great stuff we have here at BigEdCollectibles.
