Description: First and foremost this is NOT an original SPL 160. It’s a replica that uses very minimal Soundstream parts. What I have is a Soundstream SPL 160 that utilizes a 15” 4-spoke frame that was sandblasted and color-matched to the old Soundstream color. The motor has custom machined top and bottom plate to replicate the original SPL 160. I utilized the 2 5/8” (PE) voice coil similar to what’s in the modern day Kicker L7s. I used dual 1” slugs slightly larger in diameter so I put on an 8” single spider. I tried to find the most original looking cone with a rubber surround and non-pressed paper pulp cone, original Soundstream dust cap plus I will include couple extras, new Rubitex surround. This sub looks old school almost identical to the original but with some modern day parts. It blows the original out of the water and can hang with the mid-level modern day sub. It’s definitely a sandbagger. Thiele-small parameters will be included in box.
