Description: This offering is for an original late 19th century to early 20th century Carved Wooden Figure. The human figure has an almost abstract design including two front sides with one half stained darker brown than the other. The figure measures 19" in height and the wood is very light in weight, possibly cotton wood or balsa. The bottom is marked "SAN BLAS ISLANDS 1950", I believe this is a collectors note though rather than a makers marking. I have no idea where it was carved but my guess is it comes from the Pacific islands. There is a tight vertical crack between the two halves of the neck. Otherwise there are no chips, cracks or repairs and the figure displays beautifully.
