Description: New York Standard Watch Co Grade 61 Model 9 Open Faced Pocket Watch For Repair I have for sale a old New York Standard Watch Co. grade 61 model 9 pocket watch, 7 jewels. This would be a first run watch with only 69 known surviving examples of this watch. This pocket watch is sold as is no return. The works are are wound tight, indicating it is need of a major service. Reviewing the works, it appears they are missing a number of jewels - please see the photograph of the works as I am by no means an expert. This is an 18s pocket watch. Open face design. As noted, the watch will not wind, it is lever set, and time sets as it should. The dial shows no noted cracks and is just needing a proper cleaning. Original crystal, glass, in good condition with some surface scratches. Hands show original bluing and are in fine condition. Case is a relatively fancy case for the watch with a screw on back and front cover. Case is unmarked except for a serial number. It is gold filled. with surface scratches and spotting. Needs a proper cleaning. Noted plating loss at the bow and top stem area where you wind. Beyond that, the case looks to be in good condition. From what I can see, this is an excellent restoration candidate.
