Description: Native American Persimmon Seeds--Diospyros virginiana--25 Seeds Grown and collected in northern Ohio--parent tree grown from wild growing trees in Galena, MO Have produced fruit every year, regardless of our winters Fruit LOVED by birds, deer, squirrels, racoon, possum, rabbits, etc. Trees are dioecious, separate male and female trees. (5-6 years to know which is which from seed) Seeds require cold moist stratification for about 120 days (mimic winter) in fridge. Seeds have started stratification and will have a marked start date--so you can plant them as early as March 1. Seeds will be shipped with moist material to keep seeds from drying out while in transit. Most seeds ship next day. (My germination rate has been in excess of 85% even though I have read many who claim a low 25-35% rate of germination.) I recommend seed/seedling/sapling protection from small mammals, as well as from deer, for several years.
