Martin DCPA3

Description: This is a very nice Martin DCPA3 which means it is Solid Rosewood back and sides and Solid Sitka Spruce top. In addition, it has the awesome Fishman Aura Electronics system where it has 9 images created using the world's most famous microphones. These images are somehow sliced and diced into the electronics and can be blended with the excellent piezo under saddle pickup to play through your favorite PA system. Believe me when I tell you that these are the very best sounding guitars plugged in that you will ever play. I have owned many of the very best guitars with the very best pickup systems and there is no comparison - period! The only reason I am selling this guitar is that I have acquired the top of the line Martin DCPA1 Plus which is the same guitar - same woods and same pickup system, but is fully adorned with all the fancy inlays and wood trims etc. and an even fancier Aura System that has what they call Easy Mode. I'm still working to pay for it. But I can tell you that I can get the same wonderful sound out of both guitars.Comparing this DCPA3 guitar to the lower line Martin DCPA4 and DCPA5 guitars:The DCPA4 uses Sapale back and sides and a Fishman Analog pickup system. It does not have the images that can be blended for supurb live and recording sounds.The DCPA5 uses laminated sides and and even lesser pickup.The reason I mention those models is that this guitar is so much more than those at a similar price. If you actually play plugged in for fun or for a living you will certainly appreciate the better value.This guitar does have a few marks. I bought it used from a player with all the current markings and I play out with it myself. There is a mark on top shown next to a penny so you can tell the extent. There are a few more dimples on the top that don't show well and a few scuffs on the back. Nothing serious. They could be buffed out. I recently had a fret dressing and set up done on this guitar and the action is low without buzz. I have it currently strung with Elixer Nanoweb light PB strings.The string height action at the 12th fret with the first fret capoed is: Low E 6/64th, High E 4/64th.The First Fret String height is: Low E .024 to .015 at the high E.
