Description: This is a rare autographed October 30th, 1947 "Playgoer" playbill from the three-night, Pre-Broadway tryout and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the TENNESSEE WILLIAMS play "A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open December 3rd, 1947 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City and run for 855 performances.) ..... The Pulitzer Prize winning play starred JESSICA TANDY and featured MARLON BRANDO, KIM HUNTER (who signed the front cover), KARL MALDEN, GEE GEE JAMES, PEG HILLIAS, RUDY BOND, EDNA THOMAS, RICHARD CARLYLE (whose role was eliminated out-of-town), NICK DENNIS, VITO CHRISTI, ANN DERE and RICHARD GARRICK ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light vertical fold, a bumped corner at the bottom right, creasing to the back pages and moderate edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
