Description: Featuring a great pottery or stoneware 8oz cup and saucer set with a tan rim by pottery maker M.A. Hadley. This pattern is rare and an example of her early work. The "Brown Fleck" pattern was selected by the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in 1952 as an example of 'modern' art and was among the earliest of Mary Alice Hadley's designs. Beautiful deep brown with tan polka dots. This pattern is no longer made and the glaze for this color is no longer available. Mid-century modern look. Typical minor maker's flaws are present. Excellent condition. Showing only light signs of use. Has flea bites. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Will make an excellent addition to your Hadley pottery collection.
