Description: A large tinplate Tri-ang Routemaster bus in very nice display condition. Made by Lines Bros between 1960 - 1963. This is a large scale toy measuring approx 56 cm in length and 30 cm high. An expensive toy in its day. Tri-ang have modelled their bus on the red London Routemaster buses so synonymous with the London cityscape between 1956 and 2005. This model has aqua coloured seats rather than the more usual white. It has possibly been treated to a new coat of red paint at some point. If so, it is a very nice job. Also the 'decals' advertising to the sides and destination 'blinds' appear to be replacements to the originals but again expertly done. There is a small amount of paint loss next to the driver's cab as detailed in the images. Otherwise, this is a really impressive display model, evocative of a bygone era. If you are looking for a statement piece, there is nothing quite like a big red bus!
