Gold Leaf Gilding Pad, constructed on site, provides surface for gilders of all levels to slice gold leaf into smaller pieces. The suede leather surface is static-free and has a texture that keeps gold leaf from slipping when sliced. With a surface area of 9 by 6 inches, the user can comfortably fit 2 standard-sized sheets of loose Genuine Gold Leaf or Genuine Silver Leaf. This tool is most commonly used in combination with a Gilder’s Tip for Water Gilding, which lifts loose gold leaf using static. The Gilding Pad fits on the left hand for right-handed gilding and includes leather straps for the fingers and thumb to give its user a firm grip. Message us for Left-Handed Gilding Pads! The suede leather may come in Brown or Black, depending on materials on-hand. Both colors will work as intended.
