Description: Offered is a Seven Lucky Gods set of sake cups in the original black lacquer box and cardboard sleeve covering the box. In Japanese mythology, the Seven Lucky Gods or Seven Gods of Fortune are believed to grant good luck and are often represented in works of art. The worship of this group of gods is also due to the importance of the number seven in Japan, a signifier of good luck. The gods have been around for over a thousand years and according to my research were first mention in the collective in 1420.The hexagonal black plastic box is 6 1/2” across and 2 1”2” tall. Each cup has an opening of 2” and is 1 1/2” tall. Cups, box and cardboard sleeve are in good used condition. Terms & Conditions: Please review the pictures as they are part of the item description.
