A short history of newsreels of the loss of the SS Andrea Doria, Plus a team of divers visit the wreck s few years latter. 7.00 Min's 2nd Film: "Last Days of the Andrea Doria". This film is about a short history and the last voyage of the SS Andrea Doria, including how the SS Stockholm rammed Andrea Doria in a fog bank by accident. A massive sea rescue was launched to save to passengers. 25:46 Min's 3rd Film: "Salvage of the SS Normandie". SS Normandie (a French liner) was one of the largest Ocean liners of her time. WW2 started and the US Navy claimed her to use as a troopship. Renamed USS Lafayette, a fire borke out during her retrofit and capsized. This film show the salvage operation of the mammoth ship. 39:28 Min's 4th Film: "Disaster at Honda Point". US Navy's greatest maritime disaster in US history. Destroyer squadron of 14 Clemson class destroyers left San Francisco to travel to San Diego, in Sept 1923, and mis-judged the turning point outside of Santa Barbara. at 9:00 pm, the flag ship USS Delphy crashed into the rocks with 7 others following. 23 men died that night. 5:17 Min's 5th Film: "Torpedo liners and Fire Shipwrecks". A collection of newsreels on the Ocean liner Disasters. 1st, RMS Lusitania torpedoed and sunk, 2nd, 1930, SS Fairfax burns in harbor. 3rd, 1934, SS Morro Castle Burns at Sea. 4th, SS Athenia sunk by Germans. 5th, SS Orama Sunk by Nazi Battleship Gueiseneu, 6th, 1945, SS Hamonic burns at port. 7th, 1949, SS Noronic Burns with great loss of life. 9:19 Min's 6th Film: "Shipwreck Hunters".
