Description: Art Glass Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this antique or vintage art glass vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This cased glass vase has a wavy lip and a polished pontil. It is lavender with areas of darker purple present to the lower half. The darker areas are textured as if they were applied/fused to the surface. The vase stands approximately 5 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 3 3/4 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 12.6 ounces. This would be a lovely addition to a collection of art glass. Identification The exact age of this piece is not known, but it is either antique or vintage Bohemian glass. It has an engraved "Loetz Austria" mark beneath, but it is not believed to be a Loetz glass piece; the mark is likely spurious. This is possibly a piece of Kralik "Lavender" glass; both Skinner and Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates have auctioned pieces of this shape and decoration that were said to be Kralik "Lavender" vases. Condition The vase looks great overall, with light wear and no chips or cracks. There is a thin rind of wear scratches to the edges of the base, as expected for old glass.
