Description: This vintage 1960s to 1970s Gunne Sax (Jessica McClintock) gown is one of her earliest pieces, as shown by the black label. The gown is worked in a blue floral print mid-weight cotton (I don’t think a hand-block print) and is finished with what appears to be hand-crochet cotton lace. High neck, slight empire waist, long sleeves with wooden buttons, side pockets, attached 2” sashes, and 2 gathered tiers with a very full skirt. Condition is Vintage Excellent, with no flaws found, the only signs of wear being some interior seams showing edge fray. (Interior seaming is a mix of selvage edges, overcast edges, and unfinished edges.) Marked as “Gunne Sax by Jessica, San Francisco, Size 9”. I am calling it a size XS to S; narrow shoulders that fit me (size 4) but it was tight LOL, so let’s call it a standard 2 instead. More measures provided below, and OZMA is asking $224 for this beauty. All measures taken flat Bust: 34” Shoulder: 13 1/4” (this is the most critical measure for good fit, more of a size 2) Waist: 28” (slight empire waist, so more of a size 2 measure) Hips: Free Sleeve Length: 25 1/2” (sounds long but provided a normal fit) Back Zipper Length: 23 1/2” Overall Length: 58 1/2” Bottom Width: 12’ 2”, very full
