Description: Gretsch vintage, early 80s square badge maple drums, natural gloss, ex. condition. Other than obvious areas of wear, i.e., bass drum batter-side hoop where the kick pedal attaches (pictured) there are minor usage-type nicks in the finish that are superficial. The die cast rims are in great shape with a few minor imperfections. These drums sound incredible and have developed a beautiful, light honey, amber patina over forty-plus years. A couple of years ago, I removed the tom mount from the kick drum and installed a cover plate. I have since removed the cover plate and replaced it with the original tom mounting hardware. The cover plate mounting holes were plugged with 1/8 dowels glued in place (I am a long-time woodworker/cabinet maker) - see photos. The kick drum has a new powerstroke p3 clear drum head. I bought this kit twelve years ago from the Drum Doctor in Glendale CA. They were owned by an L.A. session drummer first and were very well cared for until he let them go after receiving an endorsement deal from DW. I'm selling because I have gone back to my roots and I'm now, exclusively playing Bop jazz, and I don't have a need for larger sizes any longer. Sizes: (depth by diameter) 8 x 12 rack tom, 12 x 14 Floor, 14 x 16 floor, 14 x 22 Kick, I am now also throwing in, two Ahead Armor drum cases - one for the Kick drum and one for the 16" floor tom. These cases will help to ship the drums via UPS ground safely.
