Description: 1964 6122 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country GentlemenWalnut Brown with Original Case This guitar still looks and sounds great, the SuperTron humbucker in the neck and FilterTron humbucker in the bridge are strong and articulate. They provide a very unique combination of sounds for all styles of music from Chet Atkins to George Harrison and Elvis who all owned this model. The electronics, Grover tuners, truss rod, volume pots, Bigsby vibrato and dual mutes all work perfectly. I am the original owner and have kept this guitar at home in a smoke-free environment. It has been played lightly over the years and was not my main guitar. The original rolling bar bridge (included in sale) was upgraded to the gold-plated Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge with ebony base which provides individual string intonation and height adjustments. The pole screws for the FilterTron pickup were replaced with new gold-plated Gretsch pole pieces. Condition: Like a lot of Country Gents from the 60’s the binding is missing in a few areas but is mostly intact.The back pad has lost some cushion but is functional with all of the snaps working and the faux leather in good condition.There is cosmetic wear on the back of the neck and on the body which is hidden by the back pad.There is fret-wear on the lower frets but the ebony finger board is in good condition and there are no buzzing issues. The gold-plating on the Bigsby tremolo arm, tailpiece, pickups and tuners have some patina but everything works as they should. Aside from the cosmetic issues, this guitar is mechanically and electronically in great condition and is very playable. Included is the original hard shell case in good condition and the manual and hang tags. The guitar will be packed well and insured for a safe trip. Contact me with any questions.
