Powell (1885 or 1878-1955) was a self-taught British artist known for his wildlife and landscape paintings that were often used for calendar illustrations. Powell was active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a period when British art often emphasized realism and attention to detail in landscape representation. Powell served in World War I and lost both of his legs in the Mesopotamian campaign. He earned several metals for bravery. Chuck Olson CollectionChuck Olson spent over 40 years collecting and traveling the United States in search of unique vintage prints. He was especially interested in prints that were printed for use on calendars in the "Age of the Calendar" from 1900-1960. Chuck amassed a collection of well over 10,000 framed and unframed prints before his death. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the item.
