Description: Gilded Antique Porcelain DEMITASSE CUP Napoleon Bonaparte Flag, FSC Bohemia Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE NAPOLEON TEACUP Striking and lovely antique hand painted thin porcelain demitasse teacup or chocolate cup measuring 1-1/2" tall by 2-3/4" wide. Featuring a round bowl, dainty loop handle, and the most amazing hand painted, embellished and transfer printed decoration around the exterior - interior is heavily washed with gilding. Design depicts Napoleon Bonaparte offering the hand of friendship beneath the French national flag - bowl is accented with a border of laurel wreaths on cobalt blue and top edge bears a dainty floral design. Marked with the black flag for Friedrich Simon Company, who purchased "white ware" pieces from Bohemia Ceramic Works and hand decorated them. Dating around 1920, this listing is for the cup only - it is a beautiful, stand-alone piece with lovely, fine decoration. Condition of the teacup is excellent with no chips, repairs, discoloration, gilding loss or damage - please note, there is a 1/8" line or hairline on the top edge - this is underneath the paint, a result of production.
