Too Short has always maintained a high degree of street credibility with his story-telling and funky, bass-heavy tracks - Album Number Ten is no exception as illustrated by the first 2 singles and videos: "Buy You Some" (featuring Erick Sermon) and "Gettin It" (with Parliament Funkadelic). Additional special guests on the LP include Rappin 4-Tay, MC Breed and Kool Ace. --- At the time of its release, Too Short claimed that Gettin' It was his retirement album. If that is indeed the case, he picked the perfect moment to drop out of the hip-hop business -- as the album shows, he's already beginning to border on self-parody. There are some good moments on the album, particularly the singles "Buy You Some" and "Gettin' It," which feature Erick Sermon and Parliament/Funkadelic, respectively. But too much of the album consists of tired boasts and worn-out beats.
