The cloves are fresh with a bold taste far superior to any store bought garlic. You really need to see, feel and taste what fresh garlic is like. The seeds range in size from pinhead to pea size. How to grow: Year 1 : * Plant seeds about 1/4-1/3 inch deep spread out by 2-4 inches. This is the hard part because the seeds are small. You need to keep the spacing so the plants will not crowed each other as they get bigger. Do the best you can a spacing them.* Cut off any scallions that form (the seed head at the top of the plant) so the energy goes into bulbs and not the seed head.* Harvest the young bulbs in mid-summer for fall planting. Year 2 : * Separate the young bulbs harvested and plant ~4 inches deep, spacing 6 inches each side per bulb. Make sure you keep this spacinging. The mature garlic plants will be 3-4 feet high and need the spacing to grow large bulbs for eating or planting.* Cut off any scallions that form (the seed head at the top of the plant) so the energy goes into bulbs and not the seed head.* Harvest bulbs mid-July to mid-August when the four bottom leaves of the garlic plant turn yellow/brown and are dry.
