Description: France, Ca. 1820-1830 (undated), Napoleon I Bonaparte Contemporary Fitted Green Leather Case/Cabinet by Gainerie Legrous. Lid reads "Medailles Regne De Napoleon" with French Imperial Coated Arms Below. Two brass handles, one broken. Front panel has been detached, no key, lock is open. Eight sky-blue painted and numbered fitted trays in soft velvet with varying fixed size medal slots, Approx. 135 spaces in the 1st 7 trays and the 8th tray is open spaced. Each tray with at least some amount of wear or damage. Rare with only 3 having been seen at auction and this being one of those three (Previous: Heritage August 19, 2021 Sale, lot 33165. Cabinet/Case only, no medals.
