Description: I recently purchased a number of leaded and reverse painted lamps that I am going to be listing here with very reasonable buy it nows. I am a picky buyer of these and the ones I have here are in very nice condition. Why buy a damaged or poorly repaired one when you can get a good one for a fair price from a fellow collector of these? Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is an exceptional, very early, Handel / Unique lamp. I say early because of the glass. Just take a look at it....it is just wonderful. It is very transparent and very nicely done. A great mix of green and caramel that is shaded as nicely as any Tiffany lamp. I will let my pictures do the talking here, but even they cannot accurately convey how neat the glass in this one is. I have owned dozens of these Handel / Unique periwinkles over the years and have never come across one with this kind of glass in it. The shade does have a few cracks here and there and because it is an early one is a little out of round, but to me that adds to the uniqueness of it. In addition to the beautiful shade, the base this one comes on is also and exceptional early Handel base. It is bronze with a solid cast weight in the bottom. This weight is stamped with the HANDEL signature and model number 5082. Very nicely detailed with long lotus type stems that complement the shade perfectly. It is in beautiful condition with a wonderful dark reddish brown patina. Shade measures 15 1/2" in diameter and lamp stands about 21 1/2" tall. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. I am a collector of these myself and always try to offer nice examples to other collectors. I am not making a living at this so can afford to offer things up without reserve or list them at very fair prices so that other collectors can appreciate them as much as I do. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you want a nice quality antique old one at a fair price, you have found the right seller. One last note. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that's fine. But if you are watching hoping I am going to reduce my asking price, that isn't likely to happen as I honestly believe I am asking a very fair price for this. Keep in mind that ebay is one of the only auction venues that does not charge the buyer a premium for purchases like this and if you were to buy this from pretty much any other auction house you could expect to pay a 20-30% buyer's premium on top of this asking price. Still, if you are seriously interested in this lamp and want to discuss this price or some kind of payment plan (which I would gladly accept), please feel free to email me about it and I am sure we can work something out.
