It is said that the “Z” means “ultimate/ superlative” just like Nissan’s “Z”. It was one of the SEIKO’s “Silver Wave” series and “Z” were produced as high end models with superior build quality/ finish only for 2 years from 1978-1980. It features a deep navy dial that changes its shade under different lighting. The contrasting white printing and hands creates a contrast with the dial giving great legibility even in low light settings.
