An excellent upgrade for your studio control room! These monitors provide an excellent full range stereo field to get you that awesome mix every time. I am the original owner. These monitors originally sold for $749.00 ea, plus Tax, and were purchased from the El Toro Guitar Center, Lake Forest, CA Both 8” woofers were replaced a few years ago with exact model, new replacements, however, the speaker manufacturer stopped making the original, shielded magnet version. The reason why: when these monitors were first manufactured (early 2000s) shielded magnets were needed, as most were placing their studio reference monitors on each side of their CRT computer monitors. Nowadays everyone is using LCD flat panel computer monitors, which are not effected by magnetic fields, so the magnet shielding is no longer a necessity. There are rubber feet that were attached to the cabinet bottoms with epoxy, as seen in the photos. These can easily be removed if no longer needed. There is slight fading in the black paint on the wood grain surfaces from exposure to sunlight. This can easily be corrected using wood grain treatments or cleaners. There are some very minor scuffs in the front, black piano finish, so minor that it’s not visible in the photos. Any minor imperfections can easily be buffed out.
