The truth is, Diamond Etching is a specific technique used in engraving designs. Diamond Etched Engraving is also known as “Scratch Engraving” or “Diamond Drag Engraving.” This is because during the engraving process, a diamond engraver drags across the surface of the object to produce the engraved design. Unlike laser engraving or sublimation, the surface of the material is carefully cut into the metal to reveal the underlying aluminum in the engraved pattern. This is by far the most durable engraving style and will never peel or fade like others sometimes do. Simply put, the design will last forever. Does Diamond Etched engraving look different from other engraving methods?1,000% YES! Diamond Etching is much more than just a smooth, flat design printed onto a sign.
