Description: You are purchasing at least 5 Rabdotus mooreanus, also known as Prairie Rabdotus. Native to dry plains of Texas, these snails are detritivores, feeding on soil and thatch produced by dead grasses and forbs. In captivity, they'll readily accept snail food. As detritivores, they do not cause damage to living plants and, therefore, are not classified as plant pests by USDA APHIS under part 330 and won't be found on any noxious pest list, and are not restricted from interstate travel. Regardless, this does not mean that it's ok to release into the wild. NEVER release non-native plants or animals into the wild. These snails naturally spend a lot of time dormant. This is how they survive in the dry plains during periods of no rain. Think of them as an extra low maintenance pet.
