Elgin Automatic Mens Watch Selfwinding 17J Gold Filled Made in Germany 1960s

Description: I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa 1960s Men's Elgin SelfWinding Automatic 17Jewel Wristwatch with Gold Filled 34mm Case. I can not get the back open , not sure why its so snug but it won't budge - even when using the correct tool . The watch is German Made and dates to somewhere in the 60s . Its a very handsome watch and in really nice condition. It runs when moved , ticking nicely as I do the listing. Has the lug pins but no band. The dial face is outstanding , super clean. The crystal is acrylic and is in real nice shape , has a couple modest light scratches. The case is in Very Good Condition any wear is light. The crown is the original , when pulled out you can only turn counter clockwise for setting as if you turn clockwise the crown spins off. The back case will not open . I put it in a holding block and used the correct tool for opening the case but it will not budge. I am selling it As Is as a result. I tried my best and can't get the case to turn off , so it is what it is. The dial face features an Arabic 12 with baton shaped hour markers for the rest. A sweeping seconds hand . The hands and markers appear to be gold , the dial face is Excellent. Please view each and every pic , ask for more if needed - do so prior to purchase.
