Description: 🌟Vintage Franciscan🌟🌸Desert Rose🌸Grand Mug Ceramic Unused!Made in CA/USA OR EnglandYou Choose! My items are all 100% AuthenticIf not brand new, there are no signs of wear This mug is very colorful and shiny! This listing is unique in, that after listening to collectors complain that pieces are "mixed", "not as described", "incorrect dating", "excessive shipping costs", "naming pieces incorrectly to manipulate searching results", and overall dealing with uninformed resellers who think damaged items should sell for the prices of mint pieces just to make a profit, I designed this way of listing my items to offer a specific piece by creating a variation option for the specific stamps available (IF I have multiples of the same item with different back stamps). You will see the variation on this some of my other pieces listed if I have a variety of different stamps. I try to help match the specific look to your collection! Each piece available in this listing has either the made in CA/USA or England (molded stamp) back stamp, depending on the time period and where it was made. See the pictures for the look of each particular stamp!**Please do not copy and use the attached pictures (Repeated below also)~I am the creator of all pictures in this listing using factual information and images from *gmcb.com (The Franciscan Ceramics archive index), the published manual Franciscan-Hand-Decorated Embossed Dinnerware by James Elliot-Bishop, Franciscan: An American Dinnerware Tradition by Bob Page & Dale Frederiksen, *Replacements Ltd.~Please feel free to verify any information in this listing!** **My items are sold according to when and where they were made by grouping the identical items and their same back stamps together. My items are NOT mixed, which is why if you check my listings and view the pictures, it will help match my pieces to your set's design. I sort them by the color shade also. Since these were hand painted, the pink shade can vary, making each piece unique. I have included pictures of the name and identity of my pieces (Actual names given by Franciscan) ~My items are all in NEW condition, NOT USED!~ When you see the same piece sold elsewhere for the same price, read the other listing for any damage because my pieces (In mint condition) are priced similar to listings with USED (often with damage) pieces! I would not want to buy damaged pieces, therefore, I do not sell them in that condition! My items do NOT have noticeable wear, repairs, chips, cracks, nicks, or crazing. This set of dish ware has a lengthy history (1941-2003)~62 combined years produced by the following countries!! The *vintage* timelines are below: ~ ~USA (1941-1983) 30 known back stamps (38-Some are 98% similar-TV Screen example) ~England (1984-2003) 8 known back stamps ~Portugal (1984-2003) 2 known back stamp"Franciscan Desert Rose" printed on the back stamp does not mean it is vintage. Pieces made in China, Taiwan, and Thailand (All originating from China) are not vintage. They were made in the period 2004-2013. In the hand making of pottery, occasionally a small speck (colorless) or smudge of paint was trapped under the glaze. This is not considered damage. Pieces stacked in china cabinets sometimes left a slight unnoticeable surface scratch. It would be pretty amazing for an 83 year old piece to be absolutely 100% perfect, but they do exist. The back stamps also play a very important part in determining the specific look and value of the piece. A Little About Me: I am not a typical "reseller" of this dish ware. I am not a business. I am a collector with a beautiful Desert Rose collection. I inherited my first set from my grandmother. Not too long after, I found some pieces at an estate sale, and that really got me started! I initially bought many small sets not knowing everything I do now. The sets were mixed and had many damaged and mismatched items. I have donated the damaged and noticeably worn pieces, keeping only the mint ones. Now, I have many extras (all mint like my collection). If I was knowledgeable back when I started collecting, I could have avoided some sets that I purchased. Because of my experiences, when I list my pieces to sell here, I do it in a way that I would have been an awesome deal for me back then! I have sorted them by item, then back stamps dated from 1941 to 2003 (Only made in the USA, England, and Portugal). I have learned that you need to read the whole listing and ask a lot of detailed questions. I just purchased a green trimmed teapot that was listed as having no flaws. The lid has a big chip on the inside. 😢 making it worth little to having no value at all! In addition, some people think that the more pieces they have in their sets, the more it will sell for. Including damaged pieces to make your set look bigger and more valuable actually takes a huge hit on the value. Most buyers have established sets and are wanting replacement pieces or individual items they would like to add to their collections, so I list pieces individually. I would be happy to make a special listing bundling a custom order just for you! Please ask! I have a lot not listed yet because I take time and care in inspecting each piece (making sure it is clean~no dust!), listing a thorough description, communicating with buyers and other collectors I know, packing securely with lots of wrap/padding, and dealing with the entire shipping process. Always purchase from listings that represent real vintage pieces, detailed descriptions (no short, vague wording or grainy pics), detailed pictures including the bottom with the back stamp, comparable prices for mint pieces, excellent packing, honesty, communication, CLEAN pieces, and reasonable shipping costs~I strive to offer all that. I want you to be excited when your package arrives, like it is Christmas! 🎁 😍 Please Read:***I do NOT sell Desert Rose pieces made in China. They put "Made in China" on the sticker, but did not list the word "China" as the manufacturer on the back stamp. There are pieces from China, Thailand and Taiwan advertised for prices of mint early CA pieces (which are the most valuable). See the picture with an example of a dinner plate made in: 1. Made in USA 2. Made in England 3. Made in China (Little value). I have seen these in pictures represented as vintage. They are not, and nowhere near the value of pieces made in USA, England, and Portugal pieces were made during the England period. While not as valuable, some people like the change in design in a few of Portugal's pieces. They have maintained their value, but aren't considered rare and as valuable. *China also used the "Wedgewood" name, which they bought from England. Some buyers incorrectly believe these are made in England, where the Wedgewood name originated. An example of a true "rare" item is one you probably didn't even know it existed. Over 1.5 million pieces were sold. There is a lot of this dish ware in existence. Most are common items. Just because you can't find a certain piece at the moment, does not make it "hard to find" or "rare", words that are extremely over used and labeled incorrectly!! Hard to find would be pieces that had limited production, were discontinued due to low sale volume, or have a special feature/design, unlike the more common pieces. Did you know that the pickle/relish dish was made with the paint on the inside? Those are true "pickle" dishes ("Design In"). The ones with the paint ("Design Out") are "Relish" dishes, which are more common. Where did the word "celery" come from?? Or calling a creamer a "jug"?? These items are often incorrectly named. People see this wording on other listings and think it's correct, so they use the same wording. I use the correct names given by Franciscan when made. How about the green trimmed lids that were discontinued due to the higher production cost? Have you ever seen the jug or small compote? Those are true rare pieces. Hold out for mint items too! ★I do combine shipping★ My separate listings aren't set up for combined shipping, because with this dish ware, the weight and box size can vary. Please message me before paying and I will send you an invoice with the best price I can find. The cost is dependent of the box size, weight and location. If the box size exceeds 12 inches, I might use UPS instead of USPS. If you purchase multiple items in the SAME LISTING, it will automatically combine the shipping for you! *If you already paid, after I box the bundled items, and there is any extra💰, I will send a partial refund (Shipping discount). However, due to the size and weight of the pieces, it often consumes the entire shipping cost listed for each item. I use a lot of padding and bubble wrap which are included in the overall cost. My packages valued over $100 are always extra insured for the exact cost at no extra charge. If you are quoted an outrageous price for one piece, please contact me. I can't see the charge on my end. Ebay calculates the rate, so I can check into different pricing options for you. That was a lot of info, but I hope you will walk away educated about this dish ware so you aren't buying valueless, damaged pieces. If didn't list all the background of this particular dish ware, I would feel I haven't represented my items the best way possible. I wish I would have found one source including all the info early on, as it would have really saved time & avoided buying misrepresented or invaluable items! I hope this helps save you a lot of valuable time. Since I have spent my valuable time creating this listing, I would appreciate the right to own all the information, description, resources, and pictures in this listing, which I have custom designed! All the back stamps are listed on gmcb. com. You do NOT have my permission to copy, duplicate, and use my listed information on any online sites or offline locations. You may direct people to this listing for reference only, if wanted for the purpose of sharing info. I will be alerted by my many collector friends and repeat, loyal customers if they see ANY part of my listing elsewhere! Please respect my wishes and treat others the way you would like to be treated! Thank you for your understanding! 😊 *Please save this listing as a reference if helpful, but again, please DO NOT copy and use ANY part of my listing including information, quotes, or pictures used in any and all of my posts! Thank you! This info is readily available on the internet and in published books. There is very limited information regarding pieces made after 1983, when England purchased the patent.Unfortunately, you will not find one source with all the extensive information. Avoid Wikipedia. Anyone can edit and add info (correct or not) on that site. It is a very unreliable source! Most of the facts are out there, but I also wanted you to know that listings possibly contain inaccurate or false information! I've included info many collector's have shared from their personal experiences in shopping for this dish ware. Example: ⭐️ I just saw a listing on (M*****i) for 2 11" dinner plates for $280 😵! I found a lot of the exact same piece (New also) on various sites for $20-30 each. Also, read the whole listing and ask lots of detailed questions. Also, beware of high prices on damaged items! Even a chip can render the price as little or no value! Thank you for your time! If you read this, you are awesome!! 🤩 Good luck and happy hunting!! Comes from a smoke free home! Payment Policy I accept all payment methods through EbayPlease pay for the auction within 24 hours Shipping Policy **Items will be shipped within 5 days of receiving paymentShipping to the United States via USPS OR UPSInternational shipping ONLY available for those countries that are on the global shipping list!🌸
