As with most Darjeeling tea gardens, there is a unique story behind its name. At the time of their Nepal invasion, the British set up a camp in this estate. The word camp is known as 'Tombu' in local dialect and over the years the name has become Thurbo.This is a high quality autumn flush tea from an excellent Darjeeling estate.The bold, black & brown dry leaves have a fair share of gold and silvery tips. The leaves have a quintessentially autumnal sweet and floral aroma. When brewed for 4 minutes, we get a bright golden liquor that beams with a floral and a spicy perfume. This is a unique autumn flush with spicy and floral notes giving way to exotic fruits like ripe apples and mangoes that stay on the palate. The cup, redolent with sweet, layered profile finishes with a deliciously spicy, fruity, and a bright, well-rounded aftertaste. A must have!Steeping: 2 teaspoonful per cup (3 grams for 8 ounces/ 240 ml) of water at 95°C (203°F) for 4-5 minutes. You can brew this tea through 2 infusions.*** If you don’t have a thermometer handy to measure your water temperature, don’t worry!
