Description: This is a print beautify matted and framed of the original oil painting "Custer's Last Stand" painted by Edgar S. Paxton in 1899. Paxton spent over 20 years researching and painting the historic battle of the Little Bighorn. Working from an art studio in Butte, Montana the artist painted over 200 figures in the painting including those of George Armstrong Custer and Chief Crazy Horse. Although there is no known photograph of Chief Crazy Horse, Paxton used his research for the rendition. At the lower left hand bottom of the print is inscribed "Edgar S. Paxton (1852-1919) Custer's Last Stand 1899 oil on canvas 70.5 x 106 inches Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody, Wyoming, 1969. The original of this painting is there measuring over 5 feet high and 8 feet high. A very impressive piece of art. The unframed print measures 17" high by 24" in length and the matted and framed print is 27" high and 33" in length. Securely packed, the package weighs 15 pounds and measures 38" x 30" x 5" which is reflected in the UPS shipping cost.
