The inside movement is all brass andwas made in Germany as authenticated by the markings. It is a Regula 34, brass eight-day movement. This timepiece calls out the hourwith its familiar cuckoo sound along with a background gong. You willalso see and hear the bird again once on the half hour. the clock's 8-daymovement requires winding only once a week. To wind, simply pull thechains' weights upward...one for the time and one for the cuckoo. The clock is fairly large andmeasures approximately 25" high, 10" wide, and 7" deep, and istruly handsome. It would make a beautiful heirloom, or a lasting giftwhich keeps perfect time.
