Description: This is a transcribed version of an original Civil War diary by Thomas J. DeWitt. The solider, John A. Curran, was a member of Company "B", 32nd Regiment, Infantry, Iowa Volunteers. The Diary entries are from July 11, 1864 thru February 11, 1865. During that time he goes from a train in Cedar Falls to Camp McClelland, to Memphis, to various stops in Mississippi, then to Missouri down to the Battle of Nashville, then back to Mississippi. This is a great read and is 43 pages long, typed out. There are several personal entries describing what all he was going through., as well as other things related to a soldiers life during that time. The transcriber did a wonderful job in trying to keep the language and spellings of the day exact. Great Read.
