I am pleased to offer the following item: From the Heritage auction of 08/10/16, where this coin was lot #4066 and described as” “1794 Flowing Hair Half Dollar, Fine 15. O-101a, First Year of Design. 1794 50C O-101a, T-7, High R.3, Fine 15 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/5. Light silver-gray toning deepens slightly at the margins of this Choice Fine Flowing Hair half. The rims are full on both sides, with only minor loss of obverse milling between 3 and 5 o'clock. The reverse is particularly sharp for the grade with high, strong rims. Struck from a late die state, the reverse shows a bold die crack beneath O in OF to the single leaf, with a faint extension of the crack to the last S in STATES. The date is bold despite moderate wear and a few light lines and abrasions from circulation. A pleasing example of this scarce and popular first-year issue. Housed in an old green label holder.
