It is a part of the Five Emperors' coins, representing the earth element and possessing the power to ward off evil. First minted in the first year of Yongzheng's reign (1723), it succeeded the coins from the reigns of Shunzhi and Kangxi, becoming the third generation of Qing currency. The inscriptions on the Yongzheng Tongbao hold significant historical importance, setting the style for Qing dynasty coin inscriptions for over 180 years. It is among the scarcest in terms of quantity and the simplest in design among Qing dynasty coins. However, due to its standardized, well-crafted, relatively large diameter, exquisite workmanship, and uniform, neat characters, it is highly favored by collectors. Emperor Yongzheng considered currency as a national treasure. Hence, the Yongzheng Tongbao followed the fourth style of Shunzhi Tongbao, featuring the Manchu character "宝" (treasure) on the left and the Manchu characters for the mint name on the right. During the Yongzheng era, a system was established where each province had a bureau, centrally governed by the central authority, resulting in relatively standardized inscriptions on the coins
