Description: Chiltepin/Tepin/birds eye /Organic premium wild chili pepper seeds/50 seeds. After harvesting the peppers from plants, I first dehydrate them for a few hours(120°F for 8-10 hrs). This helps the outer layer break easy to collect seeds. Then I crumble the peppers on a strainer to help separate seeds from outer layer. Afterwards, I do the water method test to check for seed viability. I take the seeds and place them in a container of water. I let the seeds sit for about 15 minutes. If the seeds sink, they are still viable; if they float, I discard, because they probably will not sprout(50% or less chance of germinating). I also re-soak seeds in 3% hydrogen peroxide for about 30 minutes. I rinse the seeds several times with water before planting or putting them in small baggies to sell. I do this to help break down the hard outer covering of the seeds and kills any pathogen present on them. Most importantly, I do this to make sure customers receive clean and excellent seeds that will have better germination rate(80%-100%).
