Description: Vintage Elgin Grade 177 pocket watch for ladies, gold tone case with gold dial, Arabic numerals, seven jewels, and second hand. Mechanical movement. It appears that it had a cover on the front as well, and with both front and back covers open it would stand up, perhaps on a desk or dressing table. Case serial number traces to 1900, movement number to 1922.We had a jeweler look at it, and they said it was not gold, but we think it might be gold plated (gold filled), as many of these were. No scratches to the face, there is some wear to an ornate design on the back.
