Description: 1 Genuine Casablanca (0001830) BFR for Casablanca / Hunter* Venus ceiling fans. Has Scotch 3M tape on the back for attaching to the motor. This is the orange band taped around the motor. The BFR is a resistor for the 6 speeds on Casablanca Inteli-Touch, Advan-Touch and Comfort-Touch controls after 1986 to the last year they were made. A BFR failure typically will not hold speed and come to a stop on all speeds except 6. New BFR’s average $113 & used ones $88. Pricing these new ones below used prices. It is actually a simple procedure of removing the fan shroud, un-screwing a few screws, unplugging the old one & after removal, tape the new one on & replace the screws & shroud. *Casablanca merged with Hunter sometime in the 1990’s. Casablanca is a high end ceiling fan company that is highly sought after & they created the standard for ceiling fan features. There are many that have hung onto there ceiling fans that may end up needing replacement parts one day. These are getting harder to come by.
