Description: This BREEDING SET of 6 Baby mystery snails is a rare find, with 2 of each in blue, purple, and pink/magenta! These snails thrive in freshwater aquariums. These babies are about the size of large peas right now, but in the right conditions they will grow extremely fast, forming into big (up to 3.5" in diameter!), beautiful Mystery snails! Their rare colors will pop in any type of freshwater aquarium - they are so fun to watch grow and take care of! Since these snails are young, they will take about 2 months to grow up and start breeding. But then, one of my breeding pairs took only 1 and a half months, and another took 3 months to breed and produce beautiful babies. You just have to be patient and let the snails breed in their own good time! DISCLAIMER: I cannot sex snails, but the odds are extremely small that the whole group of 7 snails (I always include an extra snail in case of a DOA) are all the same gender. Snails breed once to twice a week, and mine lay eggs about 3 times a month. The females lay medium-sized clutched of eggs above the waterline near the top of the tank - if you want your snails to breed faster or more frequently, be sure to leave a space of about 2 inches above the waterline and keep the water at 78-82 degrees while breeding and when the babies hatch. I keep the water 78-85 and my snails thrive under these temperatures, along with fresh plants and daily algae wafers! It also helps their shells if you add a calcium tablet or powder to the tank a few times a week or feed them food high in calcium for an occasional treat. I love the calcium tablets from EvergreenAquatics on Etsy! So do my snails and shrimp. I usually crumble them up and mix them into the water. If you don't want babies every time, you can clear the eggs off the side of the tank before they start developing. Breeding snails is a very rewarding process!
