It was intended to be used as a border fabric for curtains. There would have been a matching, correstponding fabric for the curtain body! ~ This is a French printed fabric dating from the late 19th century , c1880-1900. Ive seen a design very similar to this that was printed in Mulhouse in the late 19th , on similar very heavy weight natural cotton. The design is hand block printed using purples, reds and blue on a natural, unbleached cotton ground. It is a FABULOUS fabric, ideal for many creative designs! Heavy weight , 100% cotton ~ MEASUREMENTS: Im selling this wonderful fabric per length, so each purchase is for a length of this which measures 19.5 inches wide by 45 inches long. Should you wish to purchase further continuous lengths simply add to your cart and change the quantity . EG: If you would like one long 90 inch piece by 19.5, simply purchase the quantity of 2 ~*~ CONDITION: This textile has been kept in as found, not freshly laundered condition, but can be hand washed and hung to dry.
