The handmade English Pewter necklace features a winged, black enamel heart wrapped and confined by barbed wire. The winged heart measures approximately 5" wide. It hangs on approximately 6 1/4" of chain on either side making the overall length of the necklace about 17 1/2" long. Please note: The Black Romance necklace is no longer in production. The necklace is now rare and hard to find. Symbolism: While wings symbolize the sublime experience and the ability to transcend mundane limitations, the barbed wire wrapped heart implies all the pain and restriction that is the darker side of romantic love. The Black Romance necklace is a graphic interpretation of the highs and lows of Love which rarely comes without its opposite: Hate. Handcrafted English Pewter: This necklace is handmade in England using the highest quality English Pewter. English Pewter is a lead-free, zinc-free alloy which is valued second only to silver. English Pewter is much harder to craft than the low-grade zinc and lead alloys (which contain a significant amount of toxic impurities) that are still being used in some jewelry manufacture today.
