This yeast is resistant to heat, osmotic pressure and stress, making it ideal for neutral alcohol (vodka, alcohol base) production. They are also excellent at extracting flavours from fruit in the production of fruit brandies. It is assumed to be the second most heat-resistant high alcohol yeast strain available on the market. Dosage: 3.6g per litre or less (testing recommended). Enough to produce over 280 litres of mash. Black Label 14% 1kg alcohol yeast ferments the purest of all our Turbo's in 5 days if you follow the instructions. This is our best Turbo at 14%. Turbo Black Label yeast is heat resistant, suitable for mash, fruit schnapps and alcohol base. The maximum dosage is 3.6 grams of yeast per litre (0.5 ounces per gallon of fermentation), but for 15-15.5% alcohol base production, often only 2.8 grams per litre (0.4 ounces per gallon) will suffice. Black Label yeast easily achieves 17.5% ethanol, and often 1-2% more. Instructions for 25 litres (6.6 gallons):Dissolve 6 kg (13 lbs) of sugar in 6 litres (1.6 gallons) of hot water. Make sure the sugar has completely dissolved before continuing.Make up to the target volume with cold water, stir until the specific gravity of the liquid is 1090.Make sure the temperature of the liquid is below 39°C (102°F), then add 90 grams (3.18 ounces) of Black Label yeast (3.6 g/litre = 0.48 ounces per US gallon). Stir until the yeast is completely dissolved.Allow to ferment at 68-86°F (20-30°C) for 3 days or until fermentation is complete.
