Beautiful ! Daffodils & Tulips on English Fine Bone China Teacup & Saucer c.1946

Description: This is a lovely vintage fine bone china teacup and saucer made by Salisbury China Company of England. It has beautiful spring flower bouquets of pink and purple tulips and yellow daffodils on the cup and saucer with a twisting spiral in the china of both the saucer and the cup. Both also have scalloped edges trimmed in gold. The floral bouquet of tulips and daffodils on the cup is largest in the side facing the tea drinker, and smaller on the other side, so others at the tea party can see it too. Instead of being gold, the handle is painted in a light green to go with the greenery and leaves of the spring flowers. The Salisbury Bone China manufacturer started in 1927 under the name Salisbury Crown China Commpany operating at the Salisbury Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. In 1949, they dropped crown in their name, and became the Salisbury Bone China company. They were absorbed into Alfred Clough Ltd. in 1973. This backstamp, started being used in 1946 according to thepotteries.org. Later backstamps dropped the image of the crown and the word crown was no longer part of their name after 1949, so this was probably made in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a bit of wear to the gold trim on the edges. So pretty, to treat yourself to some tea or coffee, or simply to display and admire! The teacup holds about 3/4 cup and is 3 & 3/8 inches in diameter and stands 2 & 5/8 inches tall. The saucer is 5 & 1/2 inches wide. The two pieces weigh about 8 ounces. Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree view for a closer look.
