Description: This is a pen drawing with watercolour picture dated 1972 and signed by Elyse Masile (1920-2013). It is labeled Bay Street Nassau, Bahamas and depicts a woman shopping at Bay Street - Bahamas oldest marketplace. The drawing is matted and framed - total measurements 10-5/8" X 8-5/8" - the drawing measures 5-1/2" X 4-1/4". The drawing and matting are perfect - the frame is missing its paper backing on the back. Elyse Wasile was probably best known for her scenes of Nassau streets and people - the Bahamas was her home and inspiration. She was a highly celebrated artist, illustrator and designer with many private collections boasting of her murals, paintings, ceramic tiles, pottery and miniatures.
