Description: Offered is this lovely fine porcelain china sugar bowl with lid made in Bavaria by Johann Seltmann. Three white swans are depicted swimming in a body of water. One of the swans is obscured by brown seaweed. This decorative motif was popularized by RS Prussia in the early 1900s. The JSVP mark on the bottom was introduced in 1901, according to Kovel’s book of marks. It continued in use through the 20th century. We believe this piece dates to about 1930. Gold trim highlights several elements of the design, including the handles, rims, and finial. The sugar bowl stands about 5 inches high (13 cm) to the top of the finial. It measures about 6 inches (15 cm) from handle to handle. Very good used condition with no chips or cracks. Gold trim shows some wear, most notably on the handles. Domestic shipping is free. The item will be insured. Questions welcomed. Thanks for looking. Sorry. No returns. All items are sold “as is.”
