Description: Datura moonflower (Datura Inoxia), or angel’s trumpet enchants with large beautiful fragrant nocturnal blooms. They thrive best in fertile, well draining, sunny locations in zones 5 through 10. While freezing kills them to the ground, they return in spring in zones 8 and warmer or from seeds that have fallen & stored in the soil thru winter. One bush can reach heights of 3-4ft and spread as wide as 3-4ft as well. If you allow seeds to fall it will spread quite nicely. Collect seeds in the summer to make sure you have moon flowers every year! You will receive a bag of seeds, weighs approx. .015 ounces. TIPS: As with a lot of plants —Datura is toxic to both humans & animals if consumed. Handle with care, wash hands & consider where you plant them if you have animals that eat plants. I usually sprout my seeds in clear food containers with the lid cracked or with holes in the top. It gives it a little greenhouse like environment. These seeds are super easy to sow. Just barely cover with soil until the sprout, then move them to a bigger pot when they are around 3 inches tall. Keep seedlings in the shade until they get around 6 inches or so. Then they can handle more sun or filtered sun. After a few weeks of indirect sunlight you should be fine to put in a big pot or in the ground in a little sunnier place. These can grow to 3-4ft tall & wide if they like their location. Also I’d say morning sun is always best on small plants until they get established & can handle more heat. Long Blooming Season
