Description: This Industrial yet elegant pendant light fixture was salvaged from the Isabella Dam, located in the Kern River Valley in California. The original dam construction was authorized under the Flood Control Act of 1944 and construction was completed in 1953. 3 available in separate ads. Holophane glass originally introduced in the late 19th century is unique in style because it pleasantly refracts the light with a diffused glow that evenly distributes the light without glare. The metal fixtures are rugged enough for an industrial environment yet stylish enough for refined public spaces and home decor. Holophane lights have been used in many public buildings including libraries, court houses and museums in addition to warehouse type settings. Please look closely at the pictures. The item you are viewing is the item you will receive. The Holophane shade pictured has minor chips but it is in good condition. The Metal has been cleaned to remove the years of dirt yet it retains the original patina. Electrical work will be needed to properly integrate these. Look at the socket, these were made for the large 500W bulbs with the Mogul base. These lights are available but there are also adaptors readily available to go from the Mogul socket size to standard size. The Mogul socket will need to be rewired.
