Description: A very beautiful & unique antique/vintage French cotton damask long remnant. A very interesting unique textile I sourced from France quite a few years ago in various patterns & colors. I thought all of it had sold but happy to find a bit more tucked away. This lovely cotton came to me in long bales & I was told it was old French mattress ticking. Very possibly could be but is much lighter weight than traditional heavy French ticking damask I’m generally familiar with. In the realm of antique damask toweling weight than heavy ticking. Gorgeous old French cotton. Beautiful design & very transitional. Has a marvelous organic nuance to it as well. I’d estimate 1940’s range. Possibly a bit older but awesome transitional pattern for many eras. Very unique authentic textile used for creative pieces such as unique toweling, pillow making, curtain elements, patchwork, clothing etc..,possibly even lampshades. Bespoke pillow cases, things of that nature. Though a thinner cotton, it is strong enough for light upholstery. Condition is very nice. No selvage outer edges remain which is how I acquired it. I’ve hand washed it & lightly pressed so is in good order to use. Clean. Again, I have to emphasize that this is a light weight soft cotton.
