Description: Beautiful expert needlework on perforated paper (mourning remembrance sampler) Victorian motto “What Is Home Without A Baby”. Hand stitched text and symbolic flowers in vibrant red tones. Overall frame size is 22.5” x 10” x 1”. Visible sampler under old glass is 20.5” x 8” Please see all pics as part of the description. This is an outstanding display in very good antique condition. Primary condition relates to dark spots or fuzz across lower half; cannot determine if these are on perforated paper and/or glass (have not taken apart frame to clean or confirm). Other notes follow: no obvious perforated paper fractures or thread loss; there is a stray beige thread (?) on 2nd letter “B”. Frame is sturdy but has age-related metallic silver and gold tone paint loss with crazing, nicks, and age spots. Hanging hardware is present. Back paper dust cover is mostly gone exposing wood backing. This will be carefully packaged and shipped via USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground. Thank you for viewing and reading.
