Description: Description - George V 1910s pair of candlesticks in the neoclassical manner and of square tapering form with stepped base's embossed and chased drape and bow decoration green velvet undersides. East stick has an engraved inscription 'Presented to the organist and choirmaster of St Margaret's Church Prestwick ....on his marriage, dated 1912'. Both are fully hallmarked with anchor for Birmingham assay, lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, date letter "n" for the year 1912 and the maker's mark "HM" which is Henry Matthews.Condition - Both have holes to the high relief and the corners (please inspect end photographs), one of the sconce edge slightly bent upward.
