Description: Wonderful unusual shaped tin inkwell with glass insert (inner glass bottle.) Octagonal tower shaped. Peacocks in different poses show off on all sides. Manufactured by Russia Cement Co., Gloucester, Mass, makers of Lepage's Glue. Circa 1900.The tin is marked "PEACOCK BLUE INK" on one side and"FOR FOUNTAIN PENS" on the other. The bottom reads in part "SIGNET PEACOCK BLUE INK FOR FOUNTAIN PEN AND OFFICE USERUSSIA CEMENT CO GLOUCESTER, MASS MAKERS OF LEPAGES GLUE.27/8" tall and 2 1/4" wide at base. The condition is excellent on the first one with very minor wear to the surface but no dents, rust, notable missing paint or repairs. Caps unscrew. The other one is in good condition with more wear evident. I have not cleaned this item aside from a light dust off. Light soiling, dust, old age toning, rust, dents, nicks and scratches could be present along with other minor wear consistent with age. Please view all of the photos as the are intended to be part of the description and ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. I’m always willing to take additional photos or answered detailed questions. ***Over the next several months we will be listing many items fresh from a local estate. Most will be run as auctions, so stay tuned for Sunday new listings. If you are interested in an item bid early as people often forget and miss out on items. I will not end listings early for any reason so please do not ask. The volume of items is too many to list but overall the areas covered are vintage toys, banks, games, advertising related items, tins, dolls and other collectibles.***
